We are now stocking the Canine Influenza vaccine for our patients. Many of the area boarding facilities are beginning to require this vaccine, so check with your kennel or day care to see if this is a vaccine your dog may need. Influenza is not currently a problem in this part of the country, but we may see more cases as people move from other areas to the DFW Metroplex. Influenza causes a high fever and cough, and is highly contagious. Dogs require two initial vaccines 3 weeks apart, then yearly boosters to remain resistant. Call us with any questions.
